"Buy now, pay later" — convenient or a trap?
The new form of credit that pops up at every online checkout. Useful with care, dangerous without.

"Buy now, pay later" (BNPL) lets you buy something now and pay in a few installments, often interest-free. It appears more and more at online checkout, with a single click.
Debt disguised as convenience
The catch: it's so easy that people pile up many small payments which, together, become a burden. And late payments bring penalties. The old rule holds: any "I'll pay later" is still a loan.
